'Picture this: It’s 1987, and legendary comedian Bob Hope appears on the television, flashing a “Made in the U.S.A.” tag on the inside of his jacket lapel. Hope says to the viewer, “Always look for the ‘Made in the U.S.A.’ label. It matters so much because of what it really stands for.”

Twenty years later, the concept of buying clothes mass-produced in the U.S. seems foreign at best. While the odd locally designed item made of organically grown U.S. cotton might have its appeal, most consumers have accepted the fact that our clothes were produced somewhere else–typically, in China.

South African Tycoon Buys New Look Fashion Retailer

BBC News has reported that New Look has been bought by a South African magnate  Christo Wiese, who controls Brait, South Africa's largest private equity company. Mr Wiese, who  is the third-richest South African worth almost $7bn, according to Forbes started his career in the legal profession and later buying Shoprite has now acquired one of the largest fashion retailer for £780 million.

Chinese Billionaire Takes 6,400 Staff On Holiday To Paris And Cote d'Azurb - Breaks World Record

A Chinese billionaire has taken 6,400 of his staff on a four day holiday to France which finished with a world-record breaking human chain in the Cote D'Azur.

Tiens Group Company Chairman Li Jinyuan booked up 140 hotels in Paris where the group visited the Louvre and various cultural sites in one of the world's most famous and revered cities.

The huge group of tourists then made their way to the glamorous Cote D'Azur, where Li Jinyuan booked 4,760 rooms in 79 four-and five-star hotels in Cannes and Monaco. (Source: Dailymail.co.uk)

Lagos Carnival 2015 - Colour meets Glamour

The sixth edition of the Lagos Carnival was held on saturday 9th of May 2015 which was a showcase of colour, glamour and eccentric dance routines. Roads were closed down and traffic diverted for a smooth procession while security personnels were well stationed to ensure a peaceful parade.

Excited Lagosians, non-lagosians and tourists thronged the streets en mass to watch the carnival. The carnival procession kicked off at Bourdillon road, Ikoyi through Awolowo before converging at TBS. Different groups representing different areas and groups participated in the colourful procession amidst cheers and applause by the audience.

The annual Miss Bikini of the Universe beauty pageant has taken a bizarre turn after organizer insist that contestants must put aside their fear of heights as they are mandated to catwalk on a narrow,glass covered mountain footpath in red bikinis and black high heels in a ‘test of their composure’.

One of the contestants, Yang Ningqing said,

‘First of all, it allowed us to become more courageous, and second it allowed us to practice our most fundamental skills,’This catwalk, even though it was a very crude catwalk, allowed us to show off our most beautiful posture.’
